Description
For my Final Year Project (FYP), I created a Skyrim dungeon influenced by my dissertation on Ideology and Iconography, built on the ideas of visual communication it discussed and attempted to reproduce them practically. The piece contains two main sections, a dungeon section and a boss section, with the dungeon designed to be lore-friendly and match the style and design philosophy used to construct the dungeons found in the main game.
Using assets sourced in the Skyrim Creation Kit, I designed and built the dungeon's layout, using lighting assets and particle effects to create an immersive and detailed mood piece. I used the engine’s AI tracking and pathing logic to create enemy combat encounters at key locations throughout the dungeon. Finally, I used the Creation Kit's scripting system to build simple logic puzzles for the player to overcome and solve to progress further into the dungeon's depths.
